STANLEY WACH It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Stan on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Stan is now reunited with his parents, Joe and Anna, brothers Charlie, Frankie, and Teddy, and sister Paula. Left to mourn and cherish his memory is his wife of 29 years, Herta, and her family, daughter Geraldine Rudyk (Michael), granddaughter Carla Funk (BJ) and her daughter Sarah, and daughter-in-law Peggy Lawrence. Stan was born in Winnipeg in 1925, and was raised in the Fort Garry Area. He had several jobs in his early working years but finally settled in to work as a Yardman at CNR, where he worked for 39 years, retiring in 1987. In the following years, Stan enjoyed travelling south during the winter with Herta and his precious dog, Lucky, who they adopted during one of their trips to Texas and Mexico. Stan really enjoyed time spent at the cottage at Winnipeg Beach, especially sitting around the nightly fires in the back yard, with Herta and Lucky. Following his wishes, Stan was cremated, and there will be no memorial service. The family thanks the staff of Golden Door Geriatric Centre for the care and compassion shown for Stan. Stan was a lover of animals and, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stan's memory to any animal shelter, or to Golden Door, 1679 Pembina Hwy., R3T 2G6.
