WALTER KUPIAK With loving memory we announce the passing of Walter Kupiak on September 20, 2012 at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach at the age of 89. Dad was born on July 28, 1923 in McMunn and spent most of his life in McMunn, Medika and Hadashville. He farmed and worked for Natural Resources until 1968 when he joined the Department of Highways until his retirement. In his early years, Walter enjoyed socializing with friends and neighbours, playing his guitar at gatherings and through life enjoyed playing pool, cards and enjoyed watching curling and Blue Jays baseball. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing and breaking and tilling the land , keeping up a garden until moving to Steinbach in the last few years. Dad was predeceased by his wife, Anne, in 1990; daughter Diane Bannerman; mother Ksena and father Alex; sisters Mary, Ellen, Jean and Kay, and brothers Peter and Nick. He is survived by his wife, Victoria; sons Dennis (Florence) and Don (Rita); son-in-law Andrew Bannerman; sister Anne Mastaler; stepsons Ken (Jocelyn), Kelvin (Dianne) and Len (Addie) Kowaski, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held on Monday, September 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the Reynolds Community Club, Prawda, MB; funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in dad's name to a charity of your choice. We wish to thank the staff at Bethesda Hospital for their care and support.
