NICHOLAS KLEYH February 13, 1921 - September 17, 2012 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and, great-grandfather, Nick, at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta in the early hours of Monday, September 17, 2012. Nick was predeceased by his brother Charlie, and his parents Magdelina and Karl. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Eleanor (Dolly), just short of their 66th anniversary; his children, Jim (Joan), Barb, Penny (Ken), Randy (Bonnie), Rob (Carol), as well as grandchildren, Michele, Craig (Candace), Damon (Paz), Melany (Jason), Ryan (Kelly), Nicholas (Dawn), Jenna (Lance), Kayla (Dustin), Lindsay, and Jordan, and great-grandchildren, Keenan, Phoinix, Jonah, Trinity, Nate, Bennett, Sapphira, and Gillian. He also leaves behind his sister Madge, and brothers, George and Jack. Dad was a veteran of the Second World War and retired from Labatt's Brewery at age 65, having worked there for 42 years. His life was then devoted to spending time at his much beloved cabin at Lester Beach, spending summers there, going for long walks on the beach to find any treasures he could bring home for his grandkids. He also loved to travel, which included trips to Cuba, Hawaii and Mexico. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather and helped out his children whenever he was needed. Dad, we will miss you and cherish the memories and all your love and support over the years. The family wishes to thank the staff at Foothills Hospital and Cochrane First Response for their care and support during this difficult time. A private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Alzheimer's, Parkinson's or Heart and Stroke Foundation. In loving memory, a tree will be planted at the Memorial Forest at Big Hill Springs Provincial Park, Alberta by McInnis and Holloway Funeral Homes. The Tree The tree... Reaches down, To hold on to life. Reaches above, Reaches out, To the world around. Stands firm, Through the torments of life. Becomes stronger, because of the storm. The tree... A symbol, Of strength, hope, and life. Until we meet again, Dad. You will be missed, but never forgotten
