HELEN ELIZABETH SPENCER (nee BEES) It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Liz Spencer on Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 74 years. Liz is survived by her son Edward, daughter Susan, sister Margery, brother Bill, many nieces and nephews, and special friend of the family, Anna. She was predeceased by her husband Alvin J. Spencer, the love of her life, her brother Henry and sisters Katherine and Beverley. Mom worked for the C.N.R., at the Union Station starting in the mid 1950s, and retired in 1986. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and was very competitive. In 2009, Mom earned her Silver Life Master from the A.C.B.L. (bridge) and was very proud of this accomplishment. When Dad was alive, they travelled frequently with Katherine and Bob and the four of them had the time of their lives. She had many friends and will be greatly missed. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Liz to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of one's choice. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.
