We didn't know George that well but the 3 or 4 times that either we visited them or they visited us we had a great time. He sure made us feel at home with his great humour and smile. Their hospitality was super. Gert, we offer you our deepest sympathy. Love, Denise and Bud - Posted by: Bud and Denise Kirkpatrick (Gert's sister in law) on: Oct 15, 2012

I am sorry to hear of George's passing; I may have met him without knowing who he was as I was a "regular" at Georgie's and knew Gertie from there. I met his daughters thru FB and heard many wonderful things about their Dad, I know he will be truly missed by his family and the many friends he made thoughout the years. My thoughts are with you all at this time. - Posted by: Gail Walker (friend of his daughters) on: Oct 06, 2012

How well did I know George? He was a customer of mine at the Kirkfield Motor Hotel and Georgie's/now Club 3D for all my working life. He met his life partner Gertie, who worked for me, some 30 years ago at my establishment. George, Gertie and I became partners in a restaurant on Ness Avenue, called Rodneys. We had great times as partners in business, and, George, being the quiet, resolute kind of guy that he was, made the most of a business he probably didn't understand that much from the 'other' side of the counter. We were friends before the restaurant purchase, and, remained friends for all the years after the place was sold. George had the kind of personality that always seemed to work with everybody. He had his opinions, but, was never overbearing to the point where it made people upset with him. A GREAT GUY. A GREAT FRIEND. A PERSON WHO YOU COULD ALWAYS TRUST. GEORGE MCLEAN, YOU WILL BE SADLY MISSED. WE THOUGHT YOU HAD 9 LIVES, GUESS YOU NEEDED 10!! - Posted by: Keith Dangerfield (Friend) on: Sep 29, 2012
