Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET ANN MAISEY (NEE) September 29, 1940 - July 11, 2012 With deep sorrow, the passing of Margaret Ann occurred at the St. Boniface General Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Maggie was born in Southampton, England, and was orphaned at an early age. She was cared for at The Crusade of Rescue, a home for destitute Catholic children in London, England, until she was adopted on November 13, 1945, and raised by the late Austin and Mollie Nee of Islington. She attended the Royal Cornwall School of Nursing and graduated with distinction as a nurse for the mentally ill by the General Nursing Council for England and Wales on March 22, 1973. From there Margaret became a valued member of the nursing team at St. Lawrence's Hospital, Bodmin, Cornwall, until she emigrated to Canada with her husband in 1974. Maggie felt that this period in her life was the happiest, as she loved Cornwall - the people, the beauty and nursing career. When the marriage disolved, Maggie had to find within the stamina to begin a new life alone. At this time she put all her life and health problems behind and became a stoic, independent individual to the end of her life. Maggie worked and retired from Health Sciences Centre in 1998, after 25 years of loyal service. Margaret Ann loved nature and enjoyed camping, boating, fishing in her younger years, gardening and companionship of her many domestic friends. Tricky Woo being her all time favourite. Maggie has been cremated and her wishes for interment to take place later. Sincere appreciation is acknowledged to all staff at St. Boniface General Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the care and dignity given to those at their life's end, especially to nurses Gina, Kim and Brenda. Some day, some time, our eyes shall see The face we keep in memory And God will link the broken chain Still Closer when we meet again. Maggie forever in our thoughts. Love, Neil, Andrew and the crew.
