BLAINE LETHAM Suddenly on the eve of Saturday, September 22 2012 Blaine Letham of Winnipeg was tragically taken from us at the age of 24. He was predeceased grandfather Art. He will be sadly missed but always remembered by Dad and Mom, Russ and Debbie, sister Amy, brother Cory, grandparents Ian and Betty, Nana Esther, aunts, uncles and cousins: Barb and Ken (Meghan / Hussieni, Dylan / Candace, Anders) Janice and Art (Dave / Katie-Aiden, Ashleyy / Derek) Joanne and Ian (Julia, Lauren) Cindy and Steve (Chad / Janyne-Quaid-Tory, Kayla, Kari / James-Haleigh) Renee and Tony (Jen / Jeff-Jade-Georgia, Connor) Bob, girlfriend Chelsea, and numerous great-aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Blaine was born in Winnipeg May 1, 1988. He attended Bairdmore Elementary. In those days he enjoyed playing soccer and hockey. He attended Acadia Junior High and began his skateboarding days, which continued until his passing. He graduated from Fort Richmond Collegiate in 2006. He had many jobs before he found his place in 2010 as an equipment installer at MTS. Blaine played with Lego for hours as a child and so began his love of working with his hands. This continued throughout his life as he always had a project on the go. From fiddling with his skateboards, to building an aquarium stand, and finally finishing his basement. In the last two years Blaine turned into an avid fisherman. He spent countless hours restoring his boat and fishing in it. Blaine's love for animals peaked when he got his companion Lola this past spring. They were an inseparable pair. A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services on October 1 at 10:00 a.m. Both will be held at Thompson In the Park Funeral Home at 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Pallbearers will be Thomas, Raj, Brian, Devon, Christian, Izak and Honorary Pallbearer Andy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Blaine's name to the Winnipeg Humane Society 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3, phone 204-982-2021. What a loss. We met Blaine thru friends that worked with him. He came to see us about getting one of our puppies. They weren't yet ready to leave the mom but Blaine visited once or twice a week for a few months until he ready to take his pup home. You could see the luv for animals he had. We last saw him at a concert in July and he promised to come up to visit us with Lola. We didn't know him long but made a great friendship.
