JAMES A. G. CASSON With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, James A. G. Casson of St. Malo, Manitoba. Jim braved an 11 month battle with pancreatic cancer, until the morning of September 27, 2012. He was 64 years old. Jim touched the lives of many in his short time with us. Many knew him as a valuable friend, with his rich stories, sense of mischief, huge heart, and ability to fix just about anything. He lived with great joy and pride for his family, who cherish his memory: his wife Juliette, his children Leanne (David) Clayton and Ryan (Simone Alder-) Casson, and his grandchildren Nicole and Brennen Clayton, and Ethan, Meghan and Sierra Casson. Jim was born October 11, 1947, to James Carlisle Casson (deceased 1999) and Dorothy Margaret (nee Skoglund, deceased 1981) of GreenRidge, Manitoba. As the oldest of six, Jim always felt a strong bond with his siblings: brother David (Cher) Casson, sister Linda Parenty, brothers Tom (Diane) Casson, Garnet (deceased 2010) (Jeanette) Casson, and Leslie (Donna) Casson, and all their children and grandchildren. He also felt close to his surviving aunt, Vi Skoglund. After school Jim married Juliette Gosselin of St. Malo, Manitoba on February 26, 1971, and they made a home in first Thompson, then Brandon, GreenRidge, McCreary, and Dugald before retiring in St. Malo. By that time Jim had earned his stripes as a mechanic, welder, plumber, electrician and industrial millwright. In retirement Jim quickly became a favoured uncle among his nephews and nieces, and their families too, especially the children. He and Julie have spent many hours as a welcome addition to everyone's campfires! Special thanks on behalf of the family are sent to Dr. Reimer in Steinbach and to Mrs. Pauline Gosselin from Palliative Care. Without your support this last year would not have been possible. The funeral will be held at the Catholic Church in St. Malo, on Tuesday, October 2 at 2:00 p.m. Reception will follow.
