Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICOLE ROSE MARIE JOHANNESSON (nee CARRETTE) Tragically, on Sunday, September 23, 2012, Nicole Johannesson passed away at Concordia Hospital. Left to cherish her memory are Christopher, her loving husband of nine years, daughters - Elianna and Annika, parents - Paulette and Neil Carrette, sisters - Crystal and Lorraine (Ian), brother - Joseph (Skye), mother-in-law - Angela Johannesson and brother-in-law - Kevin (Janna). She will also be fondly remembered by her numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, close friends and acquaintances. Nicole was born December 4, 1978. She attended Neil Campbell School, John Henderson Junior High and River East Collegiate. During these years she was involved in various activities including basketball, soccer, rhythmic gymnastics and oil painting. She loved ballet and attended the Winnipeg Ballet School into her 20s before her studies and employment commitments forced her to quit. After high school she studied at the University of Winnipeg where she completed her Bachelor of Arts majoring in anthropology. While completing her studies, Nicole began working at the Club Regent Casino where she met Chris. In the final year of her studies Nicole went on an archeological dig in Greece for several weeks. Upon her return, Chris surprised her at the airport carrying a large bouquet of flowers. Soon after, they were engaged and married in August of 2003. A few years later, they moved into their present home in Transcona where they started their family with two beautiful daughters, Elianna (2006) and Annika (2008). At the time of her passing she was employed at the City of Winnipeg Call Center. Although she was a working mother, she made sure that there was always time for trips to the playground, snuggles, beach days and Sunday dinners with her family. She was well known for her unique sense of humour and bubbly personality. She will be sadly missed. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Carrette and Johannesson families in their time of mourning. I can only imagine their grief at losing a child, a sister, wife and mother in the prime of her life and in such a senseless way. Nicole had everything to live for and was proving herself to be a fine and upstanding member of her community. Even at such a tender age, she has made an idellible mark on those around her and the memory of that will not soon be erased. We will pray for Nicole's family and for the repose of her soul. - Posted by: Denis and Lulu Robert (Friends of the Carrette family) on: Sep 29, 2012
