TILLIE STEVENSON (MASSEY) With granddaughter by her side, Tillie passed away peacefully, Friday morning, September 28, 2012 at West Park Manor, at the age of 91 years. She was predeceased by her seven sisters and one brother, son-in-law Arnie and husband Pete who died in 1991. Tillie will be deeply missed by son Bob (Debbie), daughters Jackie, Cindy, Mary (Lary) and grandchildren Christina, Scott, Erin and James. Tillie was born December 23, 1920 to Fred and Mary Massey in Morden, MB. She grew up on the farm and attended the Deer Creek School. At an early age she moved to Toronto with her sister Freda but got so homesick she moved back to Winnipeg. Mom often talked of working at Picardy's downtown and how much she loved it. She married Pete in April, 1949. They resided on Kingsbury Avenue in West Kildonan most of their married life and were members of the West Kildonan Legion where they made many friends. Mom had various part time jobs throughout her life and enjoyed working. She travelled to many places, Hawaii being her favourite. In her later years she joined the Bleak House (Seven Oaks) and made new friends. She had fun playing cards, going on little bus trips and met a good friend Lou who took her dancing. Many thanks to all the staff at West Park Manor and Chris for their care and compassion. Service will take place Saturday, October 6, 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. ALOHA MOM. WE LOVE YOU.
