BERYL MARGERY BELL September 1, 1916 - September 28, 2012 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beryl Margery Bell, just weeks after celebrating her 96th birthday. Beryl was predeceased by her husband Bill, her sister Irene (McDonald), and her daughter Diane Gray (Neil). Beryl is survived by her son David (Liz), her grandchildren Jane McMillan (Shaw), Ross Gray (Elizabeth), Willie and Alex Bell, and her great-grandchildren Katie, Emma, Halle, Jack, and Madeline. Beryl was a kind and generous person. She trained as a nurse at the Grace Hospital and kept close ties with her graduating class of 1939. Beryl was a long time member of Deer Lodge United Church, and was a founding member of the Ingersoll Street Ladies Coffee Club - a group that met weekly for 50 years. Beryl's hobbies included bowling and ceramics but her most favourite times were spent at Lake Betula enjoying family and neighbourhood friends. Beryl loved to travel with husband Bill including numerous trips to England, Hawaii, and a cruise through the Panama Canal. Her family came first and family gatherings were long and frequent. Beryl will be sorely missed by all of us. Our family would like to thank the staff at Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts for their kind and thoughtful support these last few years. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Beryl's life will take place at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Growing up on Ingersoll Street was special because of the people and the sense of family which existed. We were a community within a community. Beryl and Bill Bell were caring giving people and like second parents to many of us. I have so many good memories of time spent with them ...at their home, their cottage. David and Liz... my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family ...I share your sense of loss ...she was such a wonderful lady. - Posted by: Jim Selinger (Family Friend) on: Oct 14, 2012

  • I have many fond memories of growing up on Ingersoll Street. The Bells had the first TV on the block and all the neighborhood kids were welcomed to the Bell house to watch it. Diane and Sidney sold frozen treats from the Bell front porch. All of the children in the neighborhood were so fortunate to belong to the Ingersoll St family. My condolences to you and your family David. Your mother was a very special person. - Posted by: Shelagh Kovacs (Ingersoll Street neighbour) on: Oct 05, 2012
