MARY CATHERINE LECLAIR It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Leclair, aged 92, on October 2, 2012. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Arthur, the love of her life for 65 years. She is survived by her sons Rick (Claudette) and John; grandchildren Michelle (Brian) and Dan (Megan); and great-grandchildren Victoria, Austin, Harrison (Michelle and Brian), Owen and Parker (Dan and Megan). Mom was born December 11, 1919 and spent most of her youth in Winnipeg. She attended St. Charles Academy with her sister Genevieve. After High School she worked at Eatons and The Manitoba Club during the war years. Following the war, mom married her returning soldier Arthur Leclair who was courting her before the war broke out. Mom and dad were totally devoted to each other throughout their lives. During mom's life she suffered many hardships healthwise and personally, yet through it all she persevered and made the best of her situation. Her strong faith helped her through her life. Mom was a devoted mother to her sons and was a fantastic cook and homemaker. She had a great sense of humour and genuinely liked people. She will be fondly missed by the staff and residents of Misericordia Place. Mom was well-liked by them for her engaging personality and positive attitude. The family thanks the caring staff for the excellent care given to her for the past six years. Viewing and prayers will be held 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at St. Mary's Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Ave. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
