Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA GLORIA SIMAO February 13, 1923 - October 2, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of our Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother Maria Gloria Simao of Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 89 years, on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her children, Evangelina of Sao Miguel, Azores; Jose (Maria); grandchildren Suzete (Jose) of Sao Miguel, Azores, Sandy (Fred), Patricia (Robert), Dianne (Brian); great-grandchildren Vanessa, Joao and Lilliana of Sao Miguel, Azores, Alicia, Darian, Claudia, Christian, Adrianna, Ashlyn, Dylan and Eric; and numerous other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jose, her parents Manuel and Maria, her brothers Manuel and Antonio, her son-in-law Hermano, and granddaughter Debbie (in infancy). The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for their exemplary care of Gloria during the past few months. Prayers will be held on Monday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m., at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin St. N. with Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated by Rev. André Lico on Tuesday, October 9 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gloria's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Vigil Prayers 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Parish, interment Assumption Cemetery. Full obituary will follow.
