Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I met Gerrit 3 years ago. He walked through the English garden at Assiniboine park where I worked. He always expressed how much he loved it there. We became friends very quickly. We would go out for supper or just coffee and talk about his life and his relationship with his friends and family. (Mostly his son). He cared very much for them. He told me about his family when he was little and his time as a pilot in the war. He expressed his love for his wife who passed before him and how he missed her. I hope he is with her now and that they are reunited. He taught me to appreciate life and what it has to offer. To give back to life and to others. He was truly a wonderful person who touched me if the short time that I knew him. I will miss seeing him in the garden, going out for coffee and just talking with him. He really touched my heart and my life. He was an inspiring man to have around and he will be truly missed. He is in a better place. I love and miss him deeply. - Posted by: Charity Reimer (Friend) on: Oct 13, 2012

He taught me to appreciate life and what it has to offer and what I can offer to others. We would go for coffee and discuss his life and family and those he missed. He meant a lot to me. I hope he rests in peace with his wife who passed before him. I miss him already. He was a wonderful and inspiring man. I hope he touched those around him as much as he touched my life. I miss you and love you lots. I will always remember how you touched my life for the better. - Posted by: Charity Reimer (Fried) on: Oct 13, 2012
