Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFERNAND EMERY GERVAIS March 12, 1928 - October 5, 2012 Fernand Emery Gervais on October 5, 2012 peacefully passed away at the age of 84. Left with many memories to cherish, is his wife of 62 years, Denise (née St. Hilaire), his children Eveline (Bill Wieler), Gisele (Martin Croteau), Ron (Gisele), Monique (Denis Berube), Gilles (Pauline Martens), Carole (Cadieux), Marielle (Anthony Rowan) and Normand (Sheilah Lamb). He'll be forever missed by his three brothers and four sisters and their spouses, 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and all his friends and neighbours. Dad was born in Elie, MB and lived a full and blessed life with Mom at his side, working the farm until he retired in 1994. Dad was always active and enjoyed travel, sports and community life - friends and family were very important. He spent 20 wonderful winters in Palm Spring. They moved into town in 2011 but today, Dad, you found another home, rest in peace. Dad was predeceased by his infant daughter, Gisele Marie, his parents, Edouard and Simone (Hebert) Gervais and his three sisters. Special heartfelt thanks to the James Valley Colony for many years of friendship and support and to the Elie community. Also like to thank the Oncology staff at Victoria Hospital; Agnes Weidman (Home Care), and Portage la Prairie Hospital staff. Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Eustache Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. officiated by Father Paul Tinguely, whom we also give special thanks. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to vgh.mb.ca/mm/donatenow.html.
