Rae will be deeply missed by family and friends and remembered for her unwavering good humour, undeniable energy ( let's play tennis, then go golfing and then I'll make a pie ), interest in and support of all family, friends and neighbours. Born and raised in Kennedy, SK. After high school Rae attended the Grey Nuns Nursing School in Regina, SK. After obtaining her RN, she worked at the General Hospital in Weyburn, SK where she met her future husband Joseph. They were married in December 1956 in Kennedy and shortly after moved to Regina. Three years later they moved to Saskatoon following Joseph's transfer and then on to Ottawa in 1964, where they lived an active life raising their five children. Rae's interests and skills lay in caring for her children, grandchildren and husband, sports (curling Navy Curling Club', golf, tennis, sewing, surging, needle work, smocking, card games (cribbage/bridge) as well as baking. She was active in the St. Basil's church community serving as a Eucharistic Minister, Funeral Assistant and a member of the CWL. We are grateful she was able to spend this past summer at Victoria Beach (her summer home since 1957) and we are blessed to have had her in our lives. Her advice to all: don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today! My sincere sympathy to you Joe and to your family. I am going to miss Rae's direct approach to everything, her speech, her playing tennis, golf, and to life in general. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. I told her on September 10th I would see her next summer and now this will not happen. I was looking forward to playing golf with her again. Some people are called much too soon. Take care of yourself. - Posted by: Joyce Ramsay (Friend (Tennis and Golf buddies at Victoria Beach.)) on: Oct 10, 2012
