Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Though our visits over the last few years were few and far between, Eleanor was still a lifelong friend. Oh, the fun we had when we were younger! And Eleanor was usually the ring leader. She was also a hero to her 4 nieces who remained close to her & she was proud of their accomplishments, as she was of all her nieces & nephews. Ted & I send our deepest condolences to her family. Isobel and Kathy, our thoughts are with you in the loss of your dear sister. And as for some of our youthful escapades, well there were lots. All good fun! Many, many great memories of a long-time friend. - Posted by: Barbara kiesman (school friend & she was bridesmaid at my wedding.) on: Oct 25, 2012

  • I am so thankful to have had Eleanor as a lifelong friend. I first met her in Kenora Ont where she worked in Health Records. She lived in the "Brown house" residence and I in the "Green house" residence. We laughed together cried together and had many a toast together. She was an all round super friend comrade and an away from home sister. I visited her four years ago and had a great time. She lived her life to the fullest and exited it with dignity. Rest in peace my friend. Love Gayle - Posted by: Gayle Olson (Friend) on: Oct 14, 2012

  • Eleanor was a superb leader of key Departments at NYGH. She was always looking for new ways to deliver better, safer services and care. She had close and effective working relationships with staff who reported to her as well as fellow leaders. I treasure memories of the lunch Eleanor and I had at the Art Gallery of Ontario 18 months ago when we talked about time passed and her hopes and anticipated future struggles. Eleanor was a gift to Canada's healthcare system and to her many colleagues and friends. - Posted by: Hume Martin (Colleague at North York General Hospital 1982-1989) on: Oct 12, 2012

  • An outstanding woman, warm, fun to be with and will be always remembered. A friendship that goes back to 1973. - Posted by: susan and quentin Lehane (friends from Australia) on: Oct 11, 2012
