Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS GORDON REITH Peacefully, at the Grace Hospital, Tom passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012. Tom is survived by his loving wife Marie, son Gordon, sisters-in-law Irene Reith and Joan Sanderson and brother-in-law Tom Sanderson, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by his Mother and Father, sisters: Dorothy and Effie and brothers: Walter, William and Douglas. Tom was born in Winnipeg, August 7, 1928. He grew up on Banning Street in the west end where he made many lifelong friends. He attended Principal Sparling and Daniel McIntyre Schools. He was employed by the City of Winnipeg Works and Operations clerical staff for over 40 years, retiring in 1986. Tom was always an avid golfer and was proud of achieving a hole-in-one while vacationing in Arizona in 1993. Upon retirement he joined the Winnipeg Male Chorus and enjoyed many years of singing and camaraderie with the members of the chorus. Tom and his wife enjoyed travelling and spent many great holidays visiting Great Britain, Scandinavia, Hawaii, Mexico and various locations in the U.S.A. and Canada. The family wishes to thank the staff at Tuxedo Villa, Station One and the staff at The Grace Hospital for the excellent care they provided to Tom. A private family service will be held. It has been many years since I've seen or spoken with Tom, but I do remember him fondly. His storytelling and jokes, his enthusiasm for golf and singing, and most of all his warmth and kindness.
