LEON (BUTCH) IWANOCZKO January 3, 1929 October 11, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family of Leo announces his sudden passing on October 11, 2012 in Winnipeg, MB. Leo was born in Elma, MB. As a young man Leo's first job was with CNR as a water boy. In 1953 Leo married Gloria. In 1954 Leo moved to Fort Erie, ON where he worked at Hart Cooley and also served as a volunteer fire fighter. In 1964 Leo and his family moved back to Winnipeg where he worked for Motor Coach Industries until he retired in 1989. Leo enjoyed fishing and a good time with his family and friends at his cabin in Brinka, ON. Leo also loved being surrounded by his furry friends. Leo was predeceased by his brother Shorty, brothers-in-law John, Mike, and Joe Luch, and grandson Jimmy Browne. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria, his children Doug (Karen), Cheryl Daniels (Richard), Lori Browne (Jim), grandchildren Jason, Melanie, Aubrey, Tyler, Lorissa, and Rhianna, great-grandchildren Dahlia, Jacob, and Zachary, his brother Carl (Marion), his sister Marie Flanagan, his best friend Craig and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Cremation has taken place as Leo wished. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2012 at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, Leo would love you to support the Winnipeg Humane Society.

  • Auntie Gloria, Doug/Karen, Cheryl/Richard, Lori/Jim & Family. We were so sorry to hear of Uncle Leo's passing. He was such a proud family man always there for his family. Ernie always talks about the crazy stories of their time together with my Dad and Uncle Leo in Brinka. Memories we'll never forget.
