Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD RONALD CANT Peacefully on Thursday, October 11, 2012, Ed passed away with his daughters by his side at the Grace Hospital at the age of 83 years. Left to cherish Ed's memory are his daughter Sandra Cant; grandson Scott; great-granddaughter (Piper) Hayley (Ryan); granddaughter, Wendy; great-grandsons Morgan and Lloyd; daughter Joanne de Groot, (Glen); grandsons Brock and Garret; beloved wife Freda and loved by her family, Corrine (Wayne), Leslie, (Perry), Donna, (Kelly) Norman, Lorraine, Shawna and their children. As well his memory will be cherished always by his sisters in England, Jean and Doreen (John); nephews Michael, Kevin; nieces Joanne, Karen and their families. He will also be remembered fondly by the Hewitt family. He was predeceased by his youngest sister Freda. Born in Whittonstall, Consett, County Durham, England, Dad immigrated to Canada with Mom (Barbara) in 1957, settling in Winnipeg to work with the Winnipeg Transit and later with St. James School Division. Dad, Uncle Ron, Grandpa Ed will be remembered for his Jordy wit, his passion for gardening, his cheesecake, his creative and artistic nature and his ability to repair or build anything. Dad will return to England to be buried alongside his parents, over-looking the beautiful Whittonstall Valley. No Service will be held. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Grace Hospital nursing staff for their care and patience during his illness. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
