JEFFREY MICHAEL LAU Jeffrey Michael Lau, 23 years young, was tragically taken from us on September 27 2012. Jeff was born in Winnipeg Manitoba on May 11, 1989. Jeff grew up in St Vital and graduated High School from Glenlawn Collegiate in 2007. Jeff will be lovingly remembered by his parents Cathie (nee Coutts) and Bon (Mike), his siblings, Nick, Collin and Rachael, grandmother, and many friends. Jeff was predeceased by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents. Jeff's passing and memories of his kindness and compassionate nature will live on in many people's hearts for years to come. Growing up Jeffrey enjoyed many active pass times such as hockey, skateboarding, snowboarding, volleyball, and diving at the Pan Am diving club, and gymnastics at Flair's at the University of Manitoba. Jeff showed talent in all the competitive sports he played. He joined sport teams both in junior high school and at the former Dakota Community Centre (presently) Jonathon Toews Community Centre, as well as the Pam Am Pool. Jeff had many friends throughout school and his teams he belonged to. He will be greatly missed by older and newer friends he has made throughout his lifetime. His immediate family and his friends have expressed that Jeff would be there whenever someone needed him to fetch a key when locked out for example, or to help a homeless person seen digging in garbage, he would take the time to offer his help. Jeff had an infectious smile that would light up any room. Never forgotten always loved, we will deeply miss you Jeff. We hope those who knew him, and his family, will help us celebrate his life on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Visitation will be on October 14, 2012 between 7:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association 930 Portage Avenue Winnipeg MB R3G 0P8 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation #200-6 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
