Date of Passing: Oct 05, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM GEORGE KNIGHT 1938 - 2012 With deep sadness, on October 5, 2012, we announce the death of our cherished husband, father and grandfather, Bill Knight. Bill was born in Durban, Manitoba in the year 1938. He then moved to Winnipeg with his parents and 11 brothers and sisters in his early years. He began his career as a plumber and pipe fitter later going into the financial business. Eventually he formed his own company, W. G. Knight and Associates in Brandon. At the age of 50, he was able to retire and spend the winters in Arizona with his wife Darlene of 43 years. He will be remembered fondly for his quick, strong spirit and compassionate heart. He leaves behind his loving wife Darlene, five children, Darren (Lucy) of England, Todd (Bridget) of Winnipeg, MB, Colin (Brenda) of Winnipeg, MB, Cheryl of Oakville, ON and Brent (Sanya) of Calgary, AB, plus nine grandsons, two granddaughters. He also leaves behind three sisters, one brother and their families. In spite of his illness, his determination took him on a wonderful holiday to Disneyland with his grandson, Tyler and family one month before his passing. There will be a celebration of Bill's life on Sunday, October 21, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Lakeview Room (building 1000, 3rd floor) of the condo where Bill resided at 151 Country Village Rd., NE Calgary. In the summer of 2013, Bill's remains will be taken to Brandon, MB where a small reception will be held (date unknown at this time). If friends wish to donate they should do so to the charity of their choice or to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29th St. NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2.

I can sit back even today and close my eyes to vividly see and remember all my great times with my childhood friend, Brent. His family was a great inspiration (one that only these times can make you realize) and I have no doubt a factor in its own way to my wonderful life and family. Surround yourself with good people and you will follow. Take care Knight family. Mark Tarr - Posted by: Mark Tarr (Family friend) on: Oct 14, 2012
