Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES LORRAINE MOZEL (nee KULA) On October 18, 2012 at the age of 94, Frances passed away peacefully at Kin Place Personal Care Home, Oakbank, MB. Left to cherish Mom's memory are her son Larry (Maureen), daughter Susan (Peter Goertzen), grandchildren Leah (Donald Brown) and Allan (Lorna), great-grandchildren Justin and Nicholas Brown, Jonathan and Matthew Mozel and many nieces and nephews. As well, her sisters Sophie Jaworski and Margaret Kolyn, brother Victor (Sharon), sisters-in-law Helen and Irene. Frances was predeceased by her husband Nick on November 15, 2000, her son Richard in infancy, her parents Anton and Anastasia Kula and by siblings John, Jennie in infancy, Millie Alexson, Leonard, Helen Amiro, Peter and Vincent in infancy. Mom was born on July 6, 1918 in Hazelridge, MB and was the oldest of 11 children. She married Nick Mozel on November 22, 1939 residing in the Anola area. As a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mom was devoted to her family and friends. Mom was actively involved in the Anola Ukrainian Ladies Group which gave them an opportunity for socializing. Often a charitable activity was done, such as knitting for the Red Cross. Mom loved to work on the family farm, gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking and cooking, especially making perogies where one ice cream pail full of potatoes made 120 perogies. No matter when you dropped by, Mom always had something to feed you, and there was always some to take home with you. Then in later years Mom joined the Over 50 Club in Anola where it was exercise on Mondays, a Wednesday trip with the Springfield Handi Transit to Springfield Adult Day Program in Oakbank and cards on Friday. Mom was a kind, generous and courageous woman who overcame medical challenges with a positive attitude. Our family wishes to make special mention and thanks to Dr. de Moissac, all staff at Ste. Anne Hospital and all staff at Kin Place Personal Care Home who so graciously cared for Mom and made her feel special, especially when Elvis gave her the little pink teddy bear on Mother's day event at Kin place. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery Crematorium, 1800 Day Street, Winnipeg, MB. There will be a viewing one-half hour prior to the service. Private family interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frances' memory to a charity of your choice. You are a precious part of so many lives. Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery Crematorium 1800 Day Street 224-1525

Mrs. Mozel was a very talented lady in the late 1960's - 1973 she taught young girl's how to sew as I was one. through 4-h I learnt how to make my first shirt and took a love to sewing and knitting as well as various other crafts. thanks to the patients of one very special lady. She will always be remebered by me and my sister as she always had a hello and a smile when she saw us in our town of Anola as we where growing up. - Posted by: rachel mustard (friend of susan) on: Oct 20, 2012
