MILJENKO (MIKE) BAJAN 1937 - 2012 Passed away with his son at his side on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the age of 75. Mike was born in 1937 in Kijevo, Croatia and immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1968. Being a nature lover, Mike fell in love with the vast prairies of Manitoba that reminded him of the Slavonian plains. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting with his friends and going for walks in the fields and parks. Mike worked as a skillful carpenter who took pride in making unique, solid and functional furniture. Since childhood Mike spent time reading newspapers and books and was knowledgeable on a wide number of topics, politics and sports being his favourites. He was a member of the Croatian community. Mike loved his granddaughters, Amy and Anna, and used every occasion to give them presents. Mike is survived by his brothers Petar and Ante, sister Marija, son Robert, daughter-in-law Rosa, granddaughters Amy and Anna, Robert's mother Berta, and other extended family in Croatia. Mike was predeceased by his sister Tomica Validzic. A private service will be held. Donations in Mike's memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Dear Robert & family, So sorry to hear of your father's sudden passing. He was a great friend to us & we loved listening to his stories and his sense of humor. Ivan & friends who went hunting & fishing together have enjoyed their adventures enormously & had many a fun days with your dad. May he rest in peace. Please accept our condolences.
