VITTORIO GIANNI DI LAZZARO 1931 - 2012 Surrounded by his family, on Sunday, October 28, 2012, Victor Di Lazzaro passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre. He was predeceased by his father Umberto, mother Santina and brother Mario, all of Italy. Victor is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Wilma, sons Mark (Suzanne), Vince (Karyn), grandchildren Alyssa, Kyle, Dane, Sara and Jesse, sisters Bruna and Pia, close cousin Luigi (Nina), and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was born in Teor Driolassa, Italy on March 7, 1931 and immigrated to Canada with his cousin Luigi in 1956. Victor was a long time employee of CP Rail and a proud member of the Gruppo Alpini. Known as Dad, Nonno, and Toto he could always be found fixing things, lending a helping hand and was always open to providing his opinion. He loved going to the trailer in Riding Mountain then to the cottage in Gimli with his loving wife. He also enjoyed fixing cars, hunting and fishing, and in later years got a lot of enjoyment watching his grandchildren play hockey and soccer. Family was the most important thing to Nonno, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. The family would like to thank Dr. Pat Harris, Dr. Milner, the Home Care Workers and many nurses. Thank you also to the staff at Riverview Health Centre for the care received during his brief stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba or The Kidney Foundation, 1-452 Dovercourt Drive, Winnipeg, MB. Our families thoughts and prayers for all those so close to Uncle Victor. Although the memories are distant they do remain. I remember times of talking about hockey and cars with his keen sense of humour. Sincerely Terry Channon and Family - Posted by: Terry Channon (Nephew) on: Nov 05, 2012
