In the summer of 1954 at Victoria Beach, Carol met the love of her life, Tom Hope. They married on September 12, 1959. I was extremely saddened to hear of Carol's passing although comforted that she was amongst her family when she did because Carol was all about family. I only knew her for a short while before she moved back out to Manitoba - but she and her husband Tom - whether they knew it or not - provided the most unconditional and passionate support when I needed it the most and I am forever grateful to both of them. They were members of St. Stephen's Anglican Church, in Hornby, Ontario, and my daughter, 4 yrs. old at the time (she is 10 yrs. old now) and I were also members of one of the warmest congregations for which I have had the pleasure to be a part of. Carol was always there to listen and share her compassion for others. She had strength that I deeply admired, warmth in spirit and a kindness that drew others to her, and yes, a wit and humour that always left you smiling. We lost touch even though I vowed not to. Life just became hectic. I will forever regret not staying in touch and will miss her dear soul. To Carol, you will always remain in my heart. To Tom and family, my deepest condolences. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Tracey Herrington (Secord) (friend) on: Nov 05, 2012

From the first minute you met Carol, her tremendous sense of humour reached out and grabbed you! She was full of passion and conviction in her beliefs and was fearless in living her life accordingly. Her devotion to Tom and her sons and all of her grandchildren was deep. Although miles and circumstance had separated us in recent years, just thinking of her laugh and wit brings a huge smile to my face. Oh boy could she kill ya at the poker table!! David and I send our deepest sympathy to all the family. - Posted by: Nora Sheehan () on: Nov 01, 2012
