  • Lorne and I knew Paul very well in Wpg. Paul rented the lower suite in Lorne's parents' house and when Lorne and I were dating in the early 1960's we doubled up with Paul and his date. He even went to midnight mass with us one year. After we moved to Calgary, Paul visited us a couple times many years ago. He was always happy and very much a gentleman. So sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Karen and Lorne Duguid (Friends) on: Mar 31, 2014

  • I'm saddened that we didn't get to see you before your passing. We wanted to plan a trip to visit with the children. Unfortunately you had to leave us too soon. Will always remember you and your kind heart. The kids will have the letters and pictures you sent us to learn all about their famous great great uncle Paul. Give Nell a hug for us. All our love... • I first met Paul when he came to our Drving School (Saferway) To get a Class one Lic, My wife Annette And I became friends with Paul. He did get his Class one, and even used it when he got a job on the Tug hauling supply up north, and he was the only one that had a class one lic, so he got the task of taking off the tailers and spotting them in the yard, One story he told me was about a trip on the tug, coming back south. There was an indian canoe with 4 or so fellows that tried to cross the wave of the tug. The canoe tipped over and they could not swim, so Paul dove in and pulled them out and saved their lives. The band gave him an Indian head band and made him a chief. I have known Paul for many many years, and he never told a fib. even about the fish we used to catch. I tried to get him to write a book about his life. My wife and I will miss him very much. We loved his friendship.I just found today about his passing, at the pool. - Posted by: Walter Hawrylenko (Close Freind And Teacher) on: Nov 12, 2012

  • Uncle Paul Loved to Smile. He sure was Loved in His little neighbourhood in Victoria. Every friend out in Victoria that I talked to after His death, couldn't believe that He was gonna be 80 on October 31. He went to the Gym 3 or 4 times a week. Still lifted weights and swam. His Smile Will be Missed. ps - there is a picture of Him Smiling at the age of 62. Unreal how young He looks in that Picture. pss - His Life is a CBC Movie. - Posted by: Richard Dubowski (nephew) on: Nov 05, 2012

  • I remember Paul as being such a nice guy. That is what I always thought of him. He was so nice looking and was so tough but not a bully. We used to talk on the phone for hours. He used to call me at least once a week in the fifties. I am so sad that he has passed away. I would have loved to see him and talk to him on the telephone again. He always used to tell me how much he liked me and to always know if I needed anyone he was there for me. - Posted by: marianne (friend) on: Nov 04, 2012
