MARGARET CARR 1934 - 2012 On Tuesday, October 30, 2012, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Margaret passed away at home with her family and her loyal dog Murphy by her side. Left to cherish Margaret's memory are her husband of 56 years of marriage, Albert Harry ; sons Tony (Kelly) and granddaughter Hayley, Graeme (Terri) and Paul. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth McCormick; as well as numerous nieces and nephews across Canada and the U.K. In 1934 Margaret was born in Shiremoor, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. She married her husband Harry in 1956. In 1970, together with their three sons they immigrated to Canada but never lost touch with their Geordie roots. Margaret enjoyed her career in the health care industry, eventually retiring from the Misericordia Hospital allowing her to spend more time with her granddaughter. She was a passionate Blue Jays, Bombers and Jets fan. She also enjoyed bingo and penny slots on their trips south with friends. In compliance with Margaret's wishes, a private family Service will be held. A special thank you is extended to Mom's friends including Evelyn Laham, Florence Smart and niece Margaret Ilderton who were always there for her. The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful care provided by the staff of the Grace Hospital 3rd floor. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, The Winnipeg Humane society or a charity of your choice. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel is in care of arrangements. Gan Canney, Mam

  • Harry and family We are in Texas and Keena sent us the news of Margaret's going to heaven. We so enjoyed her joyful spirit and sense of humour. Memories are numerious of when we all moved into our homes in 1970 and laid sod, planted trees, smoked, killed millions of pots of coffee and cared for each other and each other's children.
