I met Emily 33 years ago when she hired me at Old Dutch Foods Ltd. Our friendship continued all these years. We planned our fall vacation this year around visiting Emily in her new home in Kanata, Ontario. We are so thankful we made the trip to see her. We will miss you, our wise and virtuous friend. To her family that loved her so much, our prayers and love are with all of you. Susan & Ken Stobbs - Posted by: Susan and Ken Stobbs (Dear Friend) on: Nov 20, 2012

I just found out today of Emily's passing and it greatly saddened me. First and foremost she was a real Lady, in every sense of the word. I don't think I ever heard an angry or impatient word come from her lips. She treated everyone with respect and was gracious, even in matters of disagreement. Emily was trusted with one of the most important jobs at Old Dutch (for good reason) and very capably discharged her duties with equanimity. The vendors that called on her always remarked to me that she made Old Dutch their favorite account. The world has lost an elegant and wonderful lady. Emily was the first female purchasing agent I called on as a very young starting up salesman. I remember her as a very thorough, demanding, honest and loyal customer. I though to myself, if ever I owned a company I would want a person with all the character of Emily to run the procurement part of my company. I called on Emily in the 60's and early 70's and I know our companies had a very beneficial association because of Emily. She added something to my life and I am sure she will be sadly missed by anyone she came in contact with. My sincere condolences to you and yours at this trying time. - Posted by: John Fisher (Business aquaintance) on: Nov 04, 2012
