DORA BOUDREAU (nee FOURNIER) It is with deepest sorrow that the family announces the passing of Dora Boudreau on November 1, 2012 at the age of 103. Dora was born in Nova Scotia on August 8, 1909. At an early age her family moved to the North Shore of New Brunswick. In the early twenties her mother and father with their children moved by train to Fort Frances, Ontario. She attended St. Mary's School, where in later years she volunteered as a substitute teacher. She always had happy memories of the times she volunteered at Sunny Cove Summer Camp. Dora was a devout member of St. Mary's Church, presiding over some of the former ladies organizations and subsequently joined the newly formed C.W.L. After the death of her husband she moved to Winnipeg and became a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and worked in various Catholic institutions. Dora was proud of her Acadian heritage having researched through records in the Maritimes and the Jesuit Order. The Fournier family arrived in 1632 from Normandy, France and the Boudreau family arrived from France to what is now Nova Scotia in 1667, exactly 200 years before Confederation. Dora was predeceased by her husband Arthur and three sons, James, Richard and John, her parents John and Cordelia Fournier, her four brothers, Emile, Everett, Alex and Adolph Fournier, two sisters Evangeline Almblad and Jackie Cousineau; one loving grandson Wade Boudreau; son-in-law George; brothers-in-law Virgil, Joey, and Gerry. She is survived by her daughter Elsie Tremblay of Mississauga, and her two sisters Bertha Ossachuk of Fort Frances and Beatrice Puchalski of Richmond B.C. She is also survived by 12 grand children and 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the staff of River East Personal Care Home , especially Annette who lovingly cared for Dora. A memorial and interment will be held in Fort Frances, Ontario at a later date where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Arthur. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dora's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. 204-586-8044
