MILDRED JEAN BURKE (nee MOFFATT) September 8, 1942 - November 4, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Millie Burke of Winnipeg on Sunday, November 4, 2012. She will be lovingly missed by her sister Lyla and her brother John Jack (Dorothy), her daughter Mari (Brent), son Terri (Candy) and daughter Roseanne (Sheldon), her grandchildren Justin, Cheryl, Candace (Joshua), Rhonda (Jay), Jered (Amanda), Tanner, Chase and Taryn and great-grandchildren Autumn, Joshua, Jayden and Justin. Predeceased by husband Frederic and great-grandson Quinton. Millie's greatest love was her grandchildren. She had the gift of making each of them feel as though they were the most special person on earth. She would brag about their accomplishments no matter how big or small and as their Gram , she would tell you she had every right to do so. She loved to sing, attend fiddling functions and was very involved with the clan Moffatt. A viewing will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, on Monday, November 12, 2012, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment to occur at a later date. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Victoria General Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Auntie Millie was my favorite. She made sure I knew my roots and was the family genealogist. Always a story to tell and a helping hand to lend. My heartfelt sympathies to Mari, Terri, Roseanne and their families during this very difficult time. - Posted by: Sheree Manchulenko (Niece) on: Nov 12, 2012

  • Auntie, I will miss your gentle hand in dealing with the unbearables. I will miss you always. - Posted by: Diann Burke (Niece) on: Nov 10, 2012

  • I will miss my Aunt Millie. She was the baby of the family and my Dad never failed to tease her. I loved watching their interactions. You were always welcome at Aunt Millie's home and there were always kids around and lots of activity. My thoughts and prayers are with my cousins during this difficult time. - Posted by: Connie Hines (Niece) on: Nov 10, 2012

  • We are saddened to hear of your loss. Our deepest sympathy to the whole family. We have many fond memories of Millie at Clan Moffat events. Unfortunately we are unable to attend the viewing as we will be out of town. - Posted by: Doug & Linda Moffat (cousin) on: Nov 10, 2012
