Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE ROBERT (BOB) GRANGER RCMP STAFF SERGEANT (Retired) On November 6, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with complications of diabetes, our father Bob Granger passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 77. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 50 years, Shirley, whom he missed every day. Left to cherish family memories are his sons, Robert (Conny) and Kenneth (Marianne); daughter Elisa (Sandy); grandchildren, Brian (Denay) Kevin (Kelsey) Codie (Mike) Katie, Jesse, Kristen and great-grandson Bryden. He also leaves behind his two brothers, Skip (Marg) and Tom (Sheila) as well as his nieces and nephews. At 19 he moved from his home town of London, ON, to join the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He truly believed in what he did and was a dedicated member for 35 years. He served his entire career in Manitoba transferring nine times before retiring in Dauphin. We are proud of him and take comfort in knowing he is watching over us with Mom by his side. The family is grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Vic for their devoted care especially over the past three months. Sincere thanks also to Dr. M. Slutchuk, Dr. J. Embil and HomeCare nurse Tara. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside celebration of life was held. If so desired, donations may be made to The Guild of the Victoria Hospital. Condolences: www.bardal.ca Maintiens Le Droit

As a member of 10 troop he was our right marker and I still remember how straight and tall he stood. His pride in the Force was evident from the very beginning. He served his Country and the Force with great distinction. May he rest in peace. God bless his family - Posted by: Ron Jackson Supt . Sorry to learn of Bob's passing. We were troop mates in training in 1954 at Vancouver and Ottawa. We held a 50 year troop reunion in 2004, however he was unable to attend. Rest in Peace Troop Mate. John & Mary McDonald - Penticton, B.C. - Posted by: John McDonald (Troop Mate 1954) on: Nov 24, 2012

So sorry to hear of your loss. My siblings (Donna and Norm) and I often engage in stories of when Ken and Norm (Krysko) got up to things in our back yard. Everytime I see Rice Krispie Squares I recall how Shirley made them with peanut butter icing. There were many residents in that house down the lane over the years and your family are by far the most remembered. Again, you are in my thoughts. Sincere condolences. It is always hardest on those left behind. Bob was Dauphin S/Div. NCO when I was OPS NCO in Swan River 79/83. Coincidentally, my wife worked as a nurse with Shirley in Winnipeg. Good memories. R.I.P. - Posted by: Stu Wilson RCMP (Retired) (Worked with Bob in Dauphin S/Div. ) on: Nov 13, 2012

How sorry I am to see Mr. Granger & Mrs. Granger in this section of news. My heart goes out to you-Ken-Rob-Elisa- during this difficult time. I'm not sure if you remember us-we lived right across the street from the RCMP station/house. We think of your family now & again as we stroll down memory lane. My parents, Dave (2001) & Eva, always spoke highly of you & your folks. I used to play with you guys as we was just little fellars back then. A good memory indeed! Stay strong- keep the memories alive. Take care truly yours, Danielle. - Posted by: Danielle Allen (Neighbors in Falcon Lake - 1970's) on: Nov 13, 2012
