WILLIAM (BILL) LLOYD HARRIS November 1, 1931 - November 12, 2012 William Lloyd (Bill) Harris passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Monday, November 12, 2012 after a short illness. He was 81 years old. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 26 years, Magdalene and by his sons Kirk (Shelley), Kevin (Tina) and Kent (Jennifer) and their children. Also by his extended family Susan (David), David (Irene), Jim (Debra), Tom (Teresa), Ruth, and many grandchildren Bill was born in Indian Springs, Manitoba November 1, 1931 and lived the majority of his life in Winnipeg. His career in the sewing machine business began at the age of 15 at Eatons and spanned 66 years including being a sales and distribution rep as well as owning several retail stores. His training in Switzerland and Sweden served him well as he continued to service machines in his garage until the end. Bill had an amazing knowledge of and ability to repair older sewing machines. His dogs, gardening in the yard, and propagating plants were his love. In his own quiet way he cherished his family and his relationships with his neighbours and friends. Bill enjoyed people dropping by and visiting while he puttered in his garage and repaired machines. Cremation and service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane Society. He will be missed by many.
