MARJORIE JAMAN (née SCORY) With sadness the family announces the passing of Marjorie Jaman at the Riverview Health Centre, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, November 19, 2012. Marjorie was predeceased by her mother Tillie (Kaiser) Scory, father William Scory and sister Irene Huffman. She is survived by her husband John; son Kirby (Rosa); daughters Elysa Jaman Schneider (Peter) and Sandra Jaman (Brian Goldstein); grandchildren Simone and Alexander Jaman, Cameron and Megan Schneider; brother Robert Scory (Gaylene); many nephews and nieces; long-time friends Gail and Wally Stoyko and kind neighbours Sharon and Joe Chaput who have been a great support. Marjorie was born in Prelate, Saskatchewan. She attended elementary school in Moose Jaw, high school in Prelate, and Grade XII in St. Andrew's College in Winnipeg, where she met John. They were married at Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral in Winnipeg in 1955. After graduation, Marjorie attended Success Business College and subsequently worked at the Manitoba Teachers' Society until she and John started their family. She stayed at home to be with the children until, years later, she returned to work as an Administrative Assistant with the Manitoba Government until her retirement in 1998. Marjorie was a remarkable woman of strong character and spirit. She worked hard to create a better life for her family and community through her involvement in education, civic and political issues. She regularly wrote letters to the editor expressing her concerns and views and providing alternative strategies, and regularly attended city hall meetings. Marjorie loved her family deeply and encouraged them to do their best. She was generous with her time, support and resources. She was an excellent cook, a skill her family appreciated at holiday and family dinners. Marjorie loved shopping and did so regularly. She appreciated good value and delighted in finding unique items and articles of clothing for herself and others. In 1999, Marjorie joined the Daughters of the Nile, Sphinx Temple, which was one of the highlights of her life. There she formed firm friendships through the many social and fundraising activities in support of the Shriners Children's Hospital in Montreal. Flowers are gratefully declined. For those who wish, a donation may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of their choice. The family would like to thank the Riverview Health Centre 3E staff, especially Barb and Crystal, as well as Mary of the Palliative Care Program. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue on Friday, November 23 at 2:00 p.m. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 www.nbardal.mb.ca

John, So sorry to hear of the passing of Marge. I remember the laughs we had when you told us of her shopping sprees. I enjoyed reading her comments in the letters to the editor. While I haven't seen you much these past few years, Elverna has been keeping me up to date. My thoughts are with you. Marge was a dedicated President of the HAS society, Handwriting Analysis Society. No one was more organized and committed to learning about how to better life for others around her than she was. She was a good friend who challenged me to teach. Our loss is heavens gain as she is promoted from mother, wife and friend to become an angel. Thank God I was fortunate to know her.
