ANNE MOROZ (LOBAY)
Born: Oct 19, 1915
Date of Passing: Nov 18, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE MOROZ (nee LOBAY) 1915 - 2012 Peacefully at the age of 97 years, with her son at her side, on November 18, 2012 at Grace Hospital. She is survived by her son, Dr. Stan P. Moroz (Wendy), grandsons Jeffrey (Lianne) and Kevin (Kelly) Moroz, granddaughter Megan Hillier (Craig), great-granddaughters Kendra, Kylie, Bianca and Sophia Moroz, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Stanley, her husband of 61 years, in 2004, her parents Thomas and Catherine Lobay, and her brothers Paul and Stanley Lobay. Anne was born in Winnipeg on October 19, 1915, but moved in her early teens with her family to a small farm in Old Kildonan. Although farm life was harsh, she and her brothers had fun attending movies and barn dances. She developed an appreciation for music by listening to opera from the Met on a crystal set, the forerunner of the radio. She and Stanley were married in 1942 and had a simple but happy life together. She was a homemaker but worked part time at various jobs to help with expenses. She also volunteered in the community. She and Stanley enjoyed bowling and attending Winnipeg Blue Bombers games together. They enjoyed their summers at their cottage at Ponemah Beach. Anne helped Stanley with his woodworking projects whenever she could, then proudly showed off photos of his work. She was an avid reader, enjoyed indoor and outdoor gardening and loved to knit. With the arrival of each generation she proudly watched her family grow, attending their birthday parties, sporting events, graduations, weddings, etc. She enjoyed family gatherings because they gave her an opportunity to spend time with "the little ones". A family perogie-making lesson was especially memorable to her and the family. Despite having to deal with a variety of health issues over the years she was able to bounce back with a positive attitude by taking one day at a time . She was a kind and caring person and will be sadly missed. The family wishes to thank the staff at Extendicare Tuxedo Villa for their loving care with special thanks to her favourite health care aide, Rowena. Viewing will take place on Thursday, November 22 from 7:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the same location with Rev. J. Clark Saunders officiating. Pallbearers include her nephews Tom, Lawrence and Bruce Lobay, and her grandchildren Jeffrey and Kevin Moroz, and Megan Hillier. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, Inc., CE501-840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB or the charity of your choice.
