Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOMENICO ZEZZA Peacefully with his family by his side, Domenico Zezza passed away at the age of 90 on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the St. Boniface Hospital. He will be lovingly missed by Anna, his wife of 64 years, his daughters Katia (Peter) and Irene (Charles), his granddaughters Daniela (Brad) and Jane (John), and his great-granddaughter Zahra. Domenico was born in Salcito, Abruzzo, Italy on August 17, 1922. He moved to Rome as a young man, where he met Anna, the love of his life. He served in Corsica during the Second World War and then returned to Rome to marry and start a family. To build a better future for his children, Domenico immigrated to Canada in 1961 and was joined one year later by his wife and two daughters. Domenico and Anna worked very hard and soon were able to settle in River Heights. Domenico was employed at Greb Shoes Industries and then by CN Railways where he worked until his retirement at age 65. Domenico loved dancing, and was a wonderful ballroom dancer. He and Anna enjoyed many vacations, their favourite destinations being Italy and Cuba. He had a great appreciation for sports, especially soccer, which he coached for many years in a minor soccer league in Italy. He loved playing bocce at Centro Caboto Centre and when he could no longer play, he sponsored a team in the league and was content to play cards with his friends. His favourite card games were "briscola" and "ramino". Domenico was the family's official tombola master and looked forward to all family gatherings, making sure everyone got involved in the game. Domenico lived a long, happy and very healthy life. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family, but will live in their hearts forever. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
