GORDON (HANS GERD) HEINRICH January 16, 1945 - November 19, 2012 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gordon Heinrich. Gord was a character - good natured and even tempered and generous to a fault. He had a diverse work life, operating the Denim Direction with his mom, becoming an electronics technician working in Stony Mountain and for J. G. Turner Ltd., being a short order cook at several establishments, and finally operating his own home-based computer repair business. His favourite pastime was cruising on the Red River or hanging out in Gimli Harbour in one of his many boats. Gord leaves to mourn his two children - son John Heinrich (Jaclyn Turner) and daughter Katie Heinrich (Greg Fisher) and their mother Trudy Turner. He was predeceased by his mother, Ilse Annamarie Skorupski. We are very grateful to the staff of Meadowwood Manor for their excellent care they provided Gord for the past nine years. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 155 Bannerman Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I had the pleasure to work for Gord at JG Turner when I lived in Winnipeg. He could be grumpy, crusty and messy, but underneath it all was a warm individual with a heart of gold. Of all the dozens of men and women for whom I've worked, he was one of the very few I hold in high esteem. Our world is poorer for his loss. - Posted by: Mauro Azzano (Employee/Friend) on: Oct 17, 2013

  • Gord got me interested in computer technology which has carried me way past the basics. Our favorite pastime if it wasn't computer was hanging out in Gimli or on the river and in various coffee shops in the winter. Whenever we were in Wpg we always stopped in to say Hi. Our last visit was Aug of this year. I'll be missing a good honourable friend. My best friend in Winnipeg. - Posted by: walter. pedersen (Friend) on: Nov 22, 2012
