JAKE FALK Jake (J.D.) Falk passed away peacefully on November 19, 2012 just six days short of his 90th birthday. He leaves his wife Betty, of 66 years, his daughter Shirley (Duncan), his son John (Susan) and his daughter Arlene (Steve). Also mourning his loss are his grandchildren Jeremy, Belinda, Pam, Carol (Jeff), Melissa, Tyler and Spencer, as well as his great-grandchildren James, Austin and Joshua. He is also survived by his sister Tina, brother John, in-laws John (Helen), Susan, Mary (Bill), Neil (Jean) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was born near Altona growing up on a farm but moved to Winnipeg when he married Betty in 1946. He spent most of his working career with Winnipeg Transit, retiring in 1984. Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling everywhere from Europe to Hawaii. As Dad's health declined he had to give up his daily trips to Tim Hortons and Polo Park mall walking, but he was always the social butterfly, talking to anyone that would listen. He never lost the sense of humour that everyone enjoyed. Dad had many relatives and friends who will be waiting to greet him with open arms. Mom and Dad shared a wonderful life together. He was a dedicated family man and will be sadly missed. Be good, be careful. Please join us for a celebration of Dad's life at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, on Saturday, November 24 at 10:00 a.m. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Jake was a very nice person, full of life, love, compassion, adventure, and fun. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. His family was lucky to have him in their lives and I'm sure he will be missed. I wish I would have known him sooner and longer but I'm happy to have known him at all. Rest peacefully, Jake . - Posted by: Lucille Saull (Friend) on: May 26, 2013
