Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL PARTYKA Peacefully, on November 20, 2012, Michael passed away at the age of 88. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nell, his daughter Carol Fraser (David), son Melvin (Anita), grandchildren Aynsley Kiernicki (Ryan), Andrew Fraser (Danielle), Michael Partyka, Chantelle Partyka, beloved great-grandson Jack, brother Hank (Elsie), and sister-in-law Sophie Partyka, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary, and brothers Peter, Nicholas, Bill, Walter, and sister Steffie. Michael enjoyed sports, and played hockey for St. Paul's College, taking up curling in his later years. He chose teaching as a profession, where he eventually specialized in math. Dad loved music and spending time away from the city enjoying nature. Above all, Michael was a family man, and especially looked forward to Happy Hours and horseshoe games at the cottage, and attending his grandchildren's many activities. Michael was admired for his gentleness, kindness, respect for others, and his unique sense of humour, especially his famous one liners . As his health declined, he was always a gentleman, and appreciated everything that was done for him. Special thanks to the staff at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg who compassionately cared for Dad during his final months. He will be lovingly remembered and missed. Rest in peace Gigi. Divine Liturgy for Michael will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Avenue, followed by a luncheon in celebration his life. Interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com
