Chard, I will miss you so much. I will never forget all the great grooming lessons and tips you gave me while we worked together, as well as all the good times we shared as a crew over the years at the trailer and going out for our Friday morning breakfast. Gone but NEVER forgotten. To live in the hearts and souls of those you left behind, is to truly live for forever! - Posted by: Kyle (Co-workers at Whistler Blackcomb grooming ) on: May 03, 2013

I Remember Bruce's story of Richard after he broke his jaw for I also knew Richard in Whistler. I first met him at school in Winnipeg we were friends but not that close until I moved to Whistler in 1987. I had already lived in NW Ontario and Alberta for a couple of years after High School before I went to Whistler for the 'weekend' to check it out! I remember that night well the first bar I walked into there was Richard dancing up a storm, even though we were not that close he ran up to me and gave me this big bear hug and we ended up partying all night where I ended up on his couch the next morning. Such was Richard's enthusiasm and generosity for life and his friends. Well I ended up staying in Whistler for 10 years and Richard and I were flatmates for many of those years, I can't even begin to remember how many great memories I have of him.... I will list a couple which come to mind, At one point in our journey together Rich and I traveled back to NW Ontario and Winnipeg in order to work on his Parents' cottage near Kenora for a few weeks (Rich and I also somehow managed to work together for several years as the best damn Ski Techs at Blackcomb mtn and several other construction jobs during those years). We had a great time on that trip and did a pretty good job at the cottage and returned together back to Whistler with way too many stories to recount here. Linda and Paul I remember the two of you in all of this.... I am so very sorry for your loss. After a few years in Whistler with Richard his brother Robert came up and worked his way into the framework to quickly become a Legendary figure all on his own, Richard was incredibly proud of you Rob, I am so very sorry for your loss! I think back on those years like I view the 'Lord of the Rings' a fantasy adventure flooded with amazing characters and adventures. Richard was my Gandolf, he was a grand wizard, mentor and friend beyond compare. The last time I saw him was ironically in a bar where I told him I was continuing my adventure elsewhere, he ask me if we would ever see each other again and I promised we would...somewhere sometime. I was unaware Richard had then moved on to have a family of his own (as I have) and I am very proud of him, I am very proud of knowing that incredible soul and I am so very sorry for his passing! I wish his family to know that if there is anything I can do for them do not hesitate to contact me. Bryan Foerster bry@mts.net - Posted by: Bryan Foerster (Brothers in Arms) on: Dec 07, 2012

I was talking to my wife about my old friends and neighbours Richard and Robert in Winnipeg and was horrified when I came upon this news about Richard. My memory of Richard was that he was always full of life and lived it to its fullest. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family. - Posted by: Thomas Shilliday (Old Winnipeg neighbour) on: Dec 05, 2012

Although its been over twenty years since I saw Richard, it saddens me to hear of his passing. My thoughts go out to his family and freinds. We were just young kids when I knew Richard, but remember hanging out with him as if it were only yesterday. The last time I saw Richard was about 20 years ago, he had just had a bad skiing accident and returned home to his mom's house. Mathew, Richard and I stayed up all night reminiscing about the good times we had as kids. I will never forget Richard trying to eat pizza that night. His mouth was wired shut from the accident so we blended the pizza up in the blender with a little milk. We stayed up so late that night that I missed my flight the next morning. That was the last time I had the pleasure of hanging out with Richard. I wish we didn't lose touch like we did. He was a good friend and he will be missed. - Posted by: Bruce Waigh (Old friend ) on: Dec 02, 2012
