Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVAN ROLAND DESROCHER Van Roland Desrocher, 57, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in the Royal Oaks Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Van is survived by his wife of 35 years, Catherine (Betts) Desrocher, of Terre Haute, IN, his mother Ruth (Phillips) Desrocher of Winnipeg, daughters Lindsay Frohnapple and her husband Tim of Dyer, Indiana; Carly Desrocher of Lafayette, IN, and son Ben Desrocher of Terre Haute. He is survived by three grandsons; Mason and Reid Frohnapple and Donovan Desrocher; brother-in-law Garnett Betts and wife Lorraine of Victoria, B.C. and niece Lana Betts and husband David Enns and family of Victoria; cousins, David Embury and wife Bev and family of Edmonton, Allyson and husband Frank Fusco and family of Edmonton, and Kathie and husband Brian McGann and family of Calgary, and several cousins in Ontario. Van was preceded in death by his father Ben Roland Desrocher (1987) and sister Valerie Ruth Desrocher (2012). Van was born December 14, 1954, in Brandon, Manitoba, and spent his childhood in Winnipeg, graduated from Vincent Massey Collegiate in 1973 and attended the University of Manitoba. He had a successful career as a sales representative in the printing industry in both Canada and the United States. Van had an avid love of the outdoors, which included hiking and kayaking. He also enjoyed photography and had a passion for cars. He will be remembered as a man of integrity who loved his family. A memorial service and internment was held on November 28, 2012, in Terre Haute. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Maple Center; 1801 North 6th Street, Suite 600, Terre Haute, IN 47804, www.themaplecenter.org. My mother Hildred Thould's friendship with Van's mother Ruth kept me in touch with Van and Cathy's lives through the years. We haven't seen each other since high school but I was so sorry to hear about Van's passing.
