EDNA MAY McKINNON After a lengthy illness, at Deer Lodge Centre, on December 4, 2012, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late James McKinnon, dear mother of Sheila Keatch (Donald) and Daniel McKinnon (Mary-Lou). Lovingly remembered by her two grandchildren, Erin Furlong (husband Patrick) of Toronto and Michael Keatch (fiancée Gemma Breakwell), of whom she was so proud. Mom would have been so happy to have known her little great- grandson, Liam Furlong. Mom is also survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Petrie (Len) of Nepean and nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. Mom was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1986, her infant grandson Graham in 1977 and her sisters, Elizabeth Merlevede and Edith Bowman. Mom was an avid curler and golfer. Her connection with curling spanned almost 50 years, from the Grain Exchange Ladies to the Wildwood Club, both as curler and in executive capacities, culminating in her becoming President of the MLCA. Her biggest thrill was skipping the winning team at the Golden Gals Provincial Bonspiel in 1998, just before her illness began. Mom loved the camaraderie, companionship and competition of curling. The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Deer Lodge Centre T-3 and Lodge 7 (W E) for the wonderful care and kindness shown to Mom over the last nine years. We remember all the happy family times spent together at Mom's, especially her Good Friday brunches and Christmas dinners. Rest in peace, Mom. We were all truly blessed having been loved by you. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at St.Andrew's Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Aubrey Hemminger officiating. Flowers gratefully declined.
