MYRLE PATRICIA YOUNG Myrle Patricia Young (Bayley) passed away peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Edgemont Retirement Residence, Calgary, AB. Myrle will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Marilyn (Bill) Goedegebuure of Winnipeg and Susan (Richard) Sawka of Calgary; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; cousin Gail Iler of Calgary and many nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg on September 16, 1922, she attended Mulvey School and graduated from Gordon Bell High School in 1941. She joined the R.C.A.F. (Womens' Division) and served in the canteen at the No. 7 Bombing and Gunnery School in Paulson, MB until her discharge in February, 1945. In August 1945 she married Laurence A. Young at Young United Church in Winnipeg. After raising their two daughters, they were divorced in 1983 and Myrle moved to Victoria, BC, to be closer to her sister. In 1993 she moved to Calgary, AB, where she resided until her death. A small family service will be held in Winnipeg to celebrate Myrle's life at a later date.
