MARJORIE POLO (nee HORNER) (formerly STEVENSON) Marjorie Stevenson Polo (nee Horner) passed away on December 1, 2012. Marjorie was born in Miniota, MB on February 12, 1924. She was the only girl amongst her siblings; Les, Lloyd, Doug and Stan. She went to school in Miniota. She married Kenneth Stevenson and they eventually settled in Brandon where they raised three children; Bill, Geraldine (Dean) and Bruce. When their children were quite young, Ken passed away. A few years later, Marjorie married Dr. Rafael Polo. They were married for 42 years. Marj and Raf spent many summers at their cottage at Pelican Lake. They visited Dean and her family in England numerous times. They lived a good life together. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, Eva and Joseph Horner, by her first husband, Kenneth Stevenson, her brothers Stan, Les and Doug Horner and just seven months ago, her daughter Geraldine Wilkins. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Rafael Polo, son-in-law Denis Wilkins, sons Bill (Margaret) and Bruce, her step-son David (Martina) Polo. Marjorie was very fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her nephew Brent and her brother Lloyd. They all brought much joy to her life. A special thanks to Sheila Matthews, a nurse and special family friend who took very good care of Mom. We'll always think of Mom when we walk along a beach, feed the birds and have outdoor picnics; her favourite things. No service will be held, as per Marjorie's request, a cremation has taken place.
