CHARLOTTE WINNIFRED MABLE MANSFIELD December 6, 1946 - December 7, 2012 Charlotte passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her son Ray (Lori), by her sister Susan and brother Nelson, by her grandsons Ryan and Colton, and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents William and Violet, and by her sisters Eva and Edith. Charlotte was born in Dauphin, Manitoba. She was raised and educated there, attending Whitmore, Smith-Jackson, and Dauphin Collegiate. She worked as a Home-Care worker for several years but was obliged to return home to care for her mother. After her mother's passing she worked for Home-Care again and for several restaurants before her health failed. She loved flowers and gardening and looked forward to every spring as a new start for her outdoor activities. Her favourite holiday was Christmas, and it is especially sad that her passing just before Christmas deprived her of the pleasure she always took in this season. She was a kind, generous person who loved animals. Any distressed animal was welcome in her home, and she adopted many rescue dogs, always taking the old and sick dogs that no one else would take, and giving them love and medical care. No unfortunate person that asked for help was ever refused, and she gave as generously as her means allowed to various charities. Charlotte was an avid reader, and was able to express an opinion on a wide variety of topics. She was always interested in new things, and with the coming of the internet she was able to form friendships with people in all parts of the world, who admired her sense of humour and kind heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The world is poorer for her loss. The family would like to thank the staff of the Women's Hospital, who cared for her. The family especially wishes to thank Lisa Findlay, Kate Tate, and Diane Brayley for their kindness to Charlotte as her friends and neighbours and for their loving help in her final days. The funeral will take place on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 10:00 at Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, with internment at the Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin on Friday, December 14, 2012 at noon. "You're in the arms of the angel. May you find some comfort here."

I knew Charlotte for more than 6 years, she was a pillar of strength and a tower of compassion. Her dedication to the game we played together online was astounding, she was one of the very top players among many, many thousands! She was well known and respected in the game community by players of all ages. She was honoured in an area of the site by some of the players who knew her. She will be dearly missed by so many! Peace to her family and friends, I will always remember Charlotte's kindness. ~ Kk - Posted by: Kitty (online friend and admirer) on: Apr 30, 2013

Charlotte was the perfect neighbor. I could not add up the hours I've spent sitting at her kitchen table or on her front porch talking about everything. I will miss her tremendously. Go in peace Charlotte. You are loved. - Posted by: Kate Tate (next door neighbor) on: Dec 12, 2012
