Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) GWYNNE BOXSHALL (nee WRIGHT) Our Mom passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 12, 2012 at Davidson Memorial Health Centre in Cartwright, MB at the age of 92 with her family by her side. Peggy was born January 16, 1920 in New Castle on Tyne, England the eldest child of Stanley and Martha Wright. She came to Canada in 1927 with her mother to join her father who was employed in Holmfield, Manitoba. The family moved to Neelin in 1928, where she received her education. In 1939 Peggy married Jack Gwynne and settled on a farm in the Cartwright area. Peggy worked in Moore's Store. In the early 50s they moved into their home in town. Here they raised three children. Peggy worked as a nurses aide at the Cartwright Hospital for 18 years. Jack died suddenly in 1972 and Peggy started working at the Cartwright Pharmacy, retiring in 1978 when she married George Boxshall. After his death in 2002, Peggy moved in to the Johnson Apartments, living there until 2011, when she moved into Davidson Memorial Health Centre. Peggy was a seamstress, a good cook, and a gardener. She loved to dance and travel. She was a member of Harmony Rebekah Lodge #38 for over 50 years, the Cartwright Legion and the Anglican Church Women. She was an avid golfer, holding many offices in the Cartwright Ladies Golf Club, until her health forced her to quit in her 85th year. Peggy was a very hard worker, but also a fun loving person who lived life to the fullest. Peggy was predeceased by her parents, her husband Jack Gwynne, and her husband George Boxshall. Peggy will be lovingly remembered by son James Gwynne (Jill) Cartwright; daughter Heather Sabad (Jim) Cartwright; son Robert Gwynne (Tracey) East Selkirk; stepdaughter Cheri Raban (Kim) Winnipeg; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Edith Ruff Bismarck, N.D.; brother John Wright (Betty) Penticton, BC; as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Peggy's life will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the United Church in Cartwright, Manitoba at 2:00 p.m. with Marianne Olfrey officiating.
