JOHN ZARETSKI Peacefully, with family by his side, John Zaretski passed away at Holy Family Home on December 18, 2012 at the age of 88 years. John was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Fedir; his brother Steven Zaretski; sister Vera Kowalchuk; and two infant sisters. John is survived by his son Dan (Mariana); son Bill; daughter Yvonne Eve Pelletier (William), and their mother Adeline Zaretski. He will also be missed by his two granddaughters Andrea Myers (Jason) and Jenny, as well as his nieces and nephews and lifelong friend Michael Hawryliw. John was born on July 15, 1924 in Carlowrie, MB. He worked for People's Co-operative for over 30 years. He enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee, working on cars, trips to the country and spending time with and helping his family. The family would like to thank the 5th floor staff and everyone at Holy Family Home for their wonderful and compassionate care given to dad over the past three years. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ivan Suchavsky Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 939 Main St., Winnipeg with Rev. Fr. Miron Pozniak officiating. Private family interment at Senkiw Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2W 1T9. Over 20 years ago, I worked at a little coffee shop called Clancy's. John would come in for coffee and visit with the staff and we would have great conversations, he was such a warm person. My sincere sympathies to the entire family. Yvonne, your dad loved you very much and I remember he would do anything for you. Ill never forget the many times he drove us all around when we were kids before we had our own cars. He was always very kind.
