Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNEIL YOUNG DAWSON April 25, 1943 - December 8, 2012 Neil was the youngest son of the late Ione and Ken Dawson. He attended Queenston School, Robert H. Smith, Kelvin High School and the University Of Manitoba. Neil had many fond memories of summers spent at Granite Lake. He and Betty raised their young family in Winnipeg for many years before moving to B.C. in 1978. Neil was a skilled business man who enjoyed his career in the bowling and trophy industry. An avid traveler in his youth, his curious mind continued throughout his life, continually staying on top of the latest news and events from around the world. He was a master in seeking out the most thoughtful gifts for his friends and family and for organizing memorable outings. He loved his adopted City of Vancouver, and never gave up on the Canucks. But, when it came to football it was the Winnipeg Blue Bombers all the way! Neil found joy in spending time with his two children - Tyler and Trista. Neil's intellect, sense of humour and good heartedness will be deeply missed. Neil passed away peacefully and quietly in his home in BC. In addition to his two children, Trista and Tyler, he will be greatly missed by his good friend/ former wife Elizabeth Haney, close friend Heather Riley, brothers Dave, Bruce, Ken, and Bob and his sister Eleanor Cordingley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews along with numerous friends and extended family. A service will be held in B.C. and donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or a charity of your choosing.
