Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT (LESLIE) STRANGER It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Albert Leslie Stranger at the Percy E. Moore Hospital, Hodgson, MB on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at the age of 94 years. He is survived by his daughter Joy Sutherland (Robert), grandchildren, Norman, Greg (Melissa), Charles (Cindy) and Roberta; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis, Ernest (Florence) of Peguis and Winston (Joy) of Gimli, Franklin; sisters, Annabelle Whittingham of Carberry, Katherine Everett, Jeanette Asham of Peguis, Ollie Stranger of Gimli; sisters-in-law, Nellie, Dorothy, Margaret. Leslie was predeceased by his parents Solomon and Annabella, brothers, Roderick, Melvin, Frank, David, Jim, Freeman and Earl; sisters, Betty Brause, Nellie May Sinclair; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Asham, Lloyd Sinclair, Douglas Whittingham, Russell Everett, and sisters-in-law, Irene, Karen. Leslie was enlisted with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles in 1941. He was captured at the Battle of Ortona, Italy, December 1943 and interred as a P.O.W. for the remainder of the war. Prayers will be held on Friday, December 21 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 both at St. Matthews Anglican Church, Peguis, MB, Canon Barry Bear officiating.
