STEPHANIE FRIESEN (MELNYK)
Born: Mar 31, 1931
Date of Passing: Dec 18, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHANIE FRIESEN (nee MELNYK) March 31, 1931 - December 18, 2012 We have again been reminded that on earth we have no permanent home. It has pleased almighty God to call from our midst our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend Stephanie Friesen. Stephanie was predeceased by her husband Hilton Friesen, her son James, and her parents Theadore and Eva Melnyk. She leaves behind to mourn her passing her loving daughter Kimberly, son-in-law Larry Sigurdson, the grandchildren she loved to spoil - Matthew and Bethany, her brother Bill Melnyk, and her grand-puppy Daisy, who would race up the stairs and into the kitchen to see what treats had been left in her dish. Numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law will also miss her thoughtful and generous nature, but she will be especially missed by lifelong friend Joan Halaiko and her wonderful neighbours for over 50 years, June and Sandy Sandberg - thank you for watching over her over the years. Stephanie worked as a home care worker which was a great match for her natural thoughtfulness and generosity - many have been blessed by her hospitality. Her loving, gracious and giving heart is now at rest. She may have been small in stature but she leaves a large hole in our lives. A time of celebration and remembrance of Stephanie's life will take place on December 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. Thank you to everyone for their prayers and thoughtful wishes during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please remember Stephanie to a charity of your choice.

Stephanie has always been very kind, and thoughtful to me. Just the other day, I received an ice cream pail full of her delicious short bread cookies. She also made me her peanut butter-marshmallow slab. It's so shocking, that she baked all these wonderful treats, and now she's gone to heaven. She truly is one of my angels. I will miss her dearly. God Bless you Sephanie, Love Kris. We always enjoyed each others company when we went out for dinner. While we were looking at the menu, I would glance up to see her looking at what the waitress was bringing to other people. She would say, did you see that meal, I would nod yes. That was a little trick that she taught me, order the food that looks good, not sounds good. Thanks for that tip Stephanie. Stephanie was Mom's co-pilot. They put alot of miles on the car together. Mom's gonna miss her the most! Thanks Stephanie, and Mom for fattening me up, when I was getting a little thin. Stephanie, I'll remember to have the pork, over the sweet and sour chicken balls. You're always right, when it comes to ordering the food! - Posted by: Kris Halaiko (Friend) on: Dec 21, 2012
